A remodeling of the former Daewoo Center Building, Seoul Square displays an image of an office building with a modern sense which departs from the rigid exterior image of the original building. Junglim – which designed the building in collaboration with iarc Architects – maintained the original elevation of the building, which is composed of a series of repeated vertical stripes and glass windows, retained the symbolism of the building by modifying the materials and details of the façade, and equipped the building with a modern look. The façade of the building, also known as the media canvas, functions as a screen on which various works of media art are projected, which shows a new attempt to construct a landmark in the metropolis of Seoul through the fusion of media art and architectural design.
